State Representative

Reginald K. Meeks has dedicated the past eight years in service in the Kentucky State Legislature to the citizens of Louisville’s 42^nd District.  He has a track record of standing up for what is right, without fear or reservation.  Reginald has been a champion for new ideas and to protect the citizens of the Commonwealth.

In his personal life, Reginald Meeks works for the University of Louisville developing and implementing partnerships and programming that connects the College of Arts & Sciences with the community.  He teaches political science and history and is a mentor to UofL students.

Reginald Meeks earned a B.A. at Wabash College and a J.D. at the University of Iowa College of Law.  Prior to his service in the state legislature, Reginald served as an Alderman from the 11th Ward in Louisville.  In 1983 he was chosen by Ebony Magazine as one of the 50 Young Leaders of the Future.

His longstanding commitment to community service is reflected in his active participation and involvement in cultural preservation, education and in sportsmanship.  He has served on the Kentucky Native American Heritage Commission, the Kentucky Association of Blacks in Higher Education, Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club and the Neighborhood Housing Services of Louisville.

An avid sportsman, Reginald is a scuba diver, motorcycle rider, hunter and fisher and a swimmer.  He is a member of the Kentucky Polar Bear Club.
